Score With Grill’d

Creating a family tradition by combing two Aussie favourites – AFL footy and hamburgers.

The beauty of the Grill’d burger offering is that it creates the healthiest and freshest burgers from scratch. The reality of the Grill’d burger, however, is that it can take up to 5-8 minutes to cook and prepare. As every parent understands; keeping kids entertained for even 2 minutes can be challenging. To address this issue and to grow the Grill’d brand offering as a family friendly restaurant, we wanted to create a tangible amusement for young kids that was anchored in the Grill’d farm fresh philosophy.

Outcome

After conducting market research The Score with Grill’d Junior Footy Comp was created. The promotion played on the footy themes of competing and scoring and was rolled out in VIC and WA.

To entice families to eat at Grill’d, Kids aged under 15 were given the chance to win both instant and major prizes. To be eligible they had to wear Aussie Rules gear and eat a burger with their family. Repeat visits were encouraged by the desire to redeem instant food prizes, and the chance to ‘score’ more prizes.

Supported by POS and a Facebook ad campaign, the promotion got families eating at Grill’d with restaurants packed with colourful footy fans on game days all winter long.
